Why wonder then that people's cunning, opportunistic, but no particular merit or capacity without high moral qualities, without ideals, some even prosecuted and convicted for other crimes of mafia and corruption, are able to gain and maintain, in spite of the logic a place in Parliament, that this place should be the highest expression of democracy and rule of law? To "buy" these people do not even need to promise money, which may already have in abundance. Just allow them to postpone the enjoyment of their privileges and their parliamentary allowances. There is therefore a problem of selection of political leadership, an issue that Berlusconi, with the ruthlessness that characterizes it, has magnified out of proportion as also reflected in recent events.
