CRISIS MAY 'BE AN' OPPORTUNITY '

As usual, the effects of crisis in the province feel a bit 'and a little less' lag behind areas' economically advanced country. But a return, when there will be, will be slower.
should be able to take advantage of the pause and the fact that different thoughts on the emerging social and economic model pursued in recent decades. Take this opportunity to address the causes of our backwardness and seek solutions that can preserve a good quality of our future economy and our country. And to ensure that street, to our young people more 'skilled, work well within our provincial borders.
It 's absurd, in fact, that families and Valchiavenna Valtellina, Having made significant financial efforts to study their children to see them then forced to emigrate, thus condemning our reality to a slow but inexorable impoverishment resulting from the renunciation of its best minds.
Why not take advantage of the crisis to reflect, to imagine a new model of development without abandon, as has been done so far, the spontaneity? Yet no shortage of ideas.
Just take a cue from the series "Valtellina. Profiles of development "by Prof. Alberto Quadrio Curzio to find the most useful. It would be enough even to look at the "single document on the main issues of local development", prepared and disseminated by CGIL, CISL and UIL in November 2001 to draw on good ideas in harmony with the document mentioned above.
What do you expect, then, to promote the meeting of representative organizations in order to "harmonize" the development of the next fifteen years, identify targets and instruments, and take all commitments? Or do we prefer that everyone continue to grow their own herb garden, their image and their concerned allies and even its own difficulties as has been done so far?
We need cohesion. We must learn to exploit the young and smart entrepreneurs are coming to the fore and their associations, to involve the workers' union, the Economic Society Valtellina, our banks so well rooted in the land, the nascent "Technology Centre", the consortium "Live the Marshes" and "Corporate Development", to name some of the most important players. And benefit to the bottom of the input of people capable, competent and enlightened as Professor Quadrio Curzio.
The province has the opportunity to carry out fully its greedy coordination function and not just to raise some money here and there, which is in itself useful. All others should feel the duty to pressure and encourage them to take the initiative.
